The helicopter service for Vaishno Devi is available from Katra to Sanjhichatt. The flight takes approx. 8 minutes. The Katra helipad is at Udhampur road, 2kms from bust stand, Katra. From the Sanjhichatt helipad, it takes around a 30-minute hike to reach Vaishno Devi Bhawan. One can reach from here even by ponies, and palkies.
Vaishno Devi Mandir, Ardhkuwari- it is believed that Mata Vaishno Devi meditated in the Ardhkuwari Gufa for 9 months before beheading the demon Bhairavnath. Located halfway to the Vaishno Devi temple, Ardhkuwari acts as a stopover for the pilgrims on their journey up to the Bhawan. Bhairavnath temple- your yatra is not considered complete without visiting Bhairavnath temple. The cave temple of Bhairavnath is devoted to Kaal Bhairav and is constructed at the site where he is believed to have breathed his last. A steep 3 km journey from the Bhawan leads one to the Bhairavnath temple.
